Giuseppe Dangelico Daeni was an Italian Impressionist book illustrator and
painter.
Trained in Italy at the Art institute of Bari, and later at Milan's Academy of
Brera, Pino perfected his skills painting figure studies heavily influenced by
the Pre-Raphaelites and Macchiaioli.
After establishing himself as a successful artist in his native land, Pino
immigrated to the United States, seeking more artistic freedom and
opportunity.
Pino has illustrated 3.000 books, movie posters and magazine illustrations and
his style has dominated the market.
Pino is noted for his exceptional ability to capture the movements and
expressions of his subjects - a talent which has brought his artwork a
worldwide following and private commissions to do portraits.
Pino's early paintings featured soft romantic characters mostly women dressed
in flowing skirts and dresses; and these caught the attention of both Dell and
Zebra Book Publishers.
In 1980 Zebra commissioned him to do his first book cover; his popularity grew
within the literary community and he became the artist-in-demand for Zebra,
Bantam, Simon, and Schuster, Harlequin, Penguin USA and Dell.
Pino passed away much too soon, but he left a great legacy that will bring
enjoyment to collectors and viewers of Pino artwork for many years to come.

pittore Italiano🎨, nato Giuseppe d'Angelico a Bari, iniziò i studi presso l'istituto d'arte
della città. Nel 1960 è entrato all'Accademia di Brera di Milano dove ha
perfezionato il suo talento e la sua abilità nella pittura della figura.
Dal 1960-1979 i suoi lavori sono comparsi in alcune importanti mostre in tutta
Italia ed in Europa e, nello stesso periodo, due grossi editori italiani,
Mondadori e Rizzoli, gli hanno commissionato numerose illustrazioni per
copertine di libri.
Tuttavia, Pino Daeni si è sentito limitato a Milano, voleva la libertà
artistica che credeva esistesse negli Stati Uniti, e così nel 1979 vi è
emigrato sotto il patrocinio della Galleria Borghi.
Nel 1980, dopo aver bussato a molte porte, la Zebra Books Editori gli ha
commissionato la sua prima copertina.
La sua interpretazione, nuova, fresca e sensuale, ha avuto così tanto successo
da fargli guadagnare un'enorme popolarità in seno alla comunità letteraria.
E' così diventato l'artista più richiesto da Zebra, Bantam, Simon e Schuster,
Harlequin, Penguin USA e Dell.
Pino Daeni ha illustrato le copertine di 3.000 libri: il suo stile ha
letteralmente dominato ed influenzato il mercato.
Anche se ha dedicato tredici anni ad illustrare copertine, Pino Daeni non ha
mai abbandonato il suo desiderio di tornare alle belle arti.
Nel 1992 ha contattato una delle gallerie più importanti a Scottsdale, in
Arizona, e ha inviato cinque dipinti che sono stati ben accolti. Da allora sue
opere sono apparse in numerose gallerie statunitensi ed è apparso su
importanti riviste nazionali ed internazionali.
